![]() There's no task list but the game does use a journal that keep notes for you. There's no jump map so there is B&F, and it is a pretty big game, much bigger than, say, Phantasmat. There are enough HO scenes to make it a HO game, but if you enjoy HO I think it's the right amount. There's no 'Maybe I should move this' or even 'I wonder what fits into this space.' It also isn't like a lot of the newer HOPAs are, when EVERYTHING you can see is interactive, missing a piece, and the entire game is a chore of finding missing pieces in ridiculous obscure places.' Everything sparkles but the game definitely does not hold your hand. ![]() ![]() It's an older game so you aren't given Difficulty options. The story can be fuzzy at times, but when isn't it, right?īut it is an excellent looking and sounding game. I played it 8 years ago as my first HOPA entry, and just played it again last week, and it was the same thrill. It's an old game now but you wouldn't guess it! IMO this game is THE level which all following games hope (HOPE) to aspire. A point-and-click adventure is just what this series needs for a refresh and an improvement over previous games. While this is true for basically all MCF games, the change of pace here makes it more vulnerable.Įither way, I highly recommend this to both new and seasoned MCF players. Since the game relies more on puzzles than finding hidden objects, players who plan to repeat the game may no longer be challenged by the puzzles offered by the game. However, as what I've observed in my gameplay, replayability may suffer. ? The live-action acting is commendable given it is a first in the series ? The visuals are impressive, accompanied by atmospheric environmental effects No longer are you confined to one-by-one investigations, now you play the game at your own pace and your own way. ![]() Gone are the days of investigating individuals (and finding diary entries, for 'Ravenhearst') and here begins a period of self-paced gameplay. The series underwent a substantial and welcome change starting with this game, incorporating point-and-click navigation and a better emphasis on puzzles as a whole while still preserving the hidden object aspect we all know and love. A leap forward for Mystery Case Files 'Return to Ravenhearst' is the fifth installment of the hidden object and puzzle video game series 'Mystery Case Files' where you - the detective - are called upon by the Queen of England yet again to investigate the mysterious Ravenhearst Manor in Blackpool, England directly after the events of the previous game 'Madame Fate'. ![]() ![]() There are many good reasons for a VPS services to be so popular. You can also use your RTMP server to forward to other streaming services and channels! Underneath the "record off " line in your nginx.VPS Server is the one of most on demand web hosting services. You can add the stream to OBS itself using the Media source or VLC source, or use something like JWPlayer to play back the RTMP stream on a web site you set up. You now have a working RTMP server! Congrats! If it all worked right, then you should now be seeing your stream in VLC! Just Open a Network Stream and enter in rtmp:///live/test as the URL. So how do you watch it? The easiest way to do so is with VLC (v2.1.0 or later). If you hit "Start Streaming" and don't get an error from OBS, that's a good sign. You should now be able to start streaming to your server. For simple purposes, authentication isn't necessary in my experience. You can basically make up any play path and stream to it, and put that path into an RTMP player, and it will play back. Log into your box, and make sure you have the necessary tools to build nginx using the following command:Ĭlick to expand. You may be wondering where that play path "test" came from. Step 2: Installing nginx with RTMP module Also, I recommend using a dynamic DNS service to overcome dynamic IP issues that come up with residential hosting. If you are hosting your server in your home, you will have to forward TCP port 1935 to the box.this varies by router, so look up how to set up port forwarding for your router. Note to Mac users: You can install nginx with the RTMP module via Homebrew: If you want to use Windows, you can find Windows binaries for nginx with the RTMP module already included here: Note to Windows users: This guide focuses on using Linux. As long as you get the dependencies for nginx somewhere besides apt, you can follow this guide just fine. I recommend using Ubuntu for the server software for the sake of ease, but you can obviously use whatever you want. So when I have 2 streamers stream to my server, and I download both of them, I can chew up 10GB of bandwidth in 2 hours. Just make sure you have enough bandwidth.remember that bandwidth usage will be (the size of a stream) * (the number of people uploading + the number of people downloading). I recommend Linode or Digital Ocean as providers. ![]() If you don't have your own box, a VPS can also work. So I assure you, even a cheap old box would suffice. ![]() Don't believe me? My RTMP server for a long time was a Raspberry Pi, a $35 mini-computer, sitting under my desk, and it was capable of hosting at least 3 simultaneous streams, and I never even stressed it to see how many more it could handle. Essentially it just grabs data from the input and forwards it on to the output, simple data transfer.

![]() ![]() 'Take Care' samples 'I'll Take Care of U (Remix)' by Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron But 'Take Care' isn't actually a truly original song. Five years on, and the relationship rumours are still flying, with the pair even getting matching shark tattoos. 'Take Care' marked the second collaboration between Drake and Rihanna. This ambient piece runs through 'Started From The Bottom', adding to the atmosphere and consistent tone of the track. 'Work' samples 'Sail Away' by Richie Stephens and Mikey 2000 Along with it's infectious beat and raunchy video, there's also a rather special sample that helps add to the track's iconic status. Hip-Hop's ultimate OTP teamed up earlier in the year for this Dancehall banger. The star admitted that she struggled to "play it cool" when she heard Drake had used her voice on 'Poundcake'. Visiting elves and dwarves will likely be horrified by their Athasian counterparts, while an encounter between outlander and Athasian halflings just make me laugh thinking about it. There’s useful info here, certainly on finances (the 2E version that your metal turns into bone and ceramic on entry was just asinine), but I’d like to see a bit more on the culture clash. The only other feedback I’d give would be on non-Athasian PCs visiting from the rest of Ravenloft (or else the wider multiverse). Perhaps the Magocrat faction is dominated by the descendants of the Arcanamachs (or perhaps not, that would mess with peoples heads for the former Preservers to be the bad guys here)? Perhaps one or more of the Magocrat leaders have been busy failing Powers checks and sliding into a more and more degenerate state (the DP might want to set up other candidates for Darklord if something happens to Thakok-An after all)? I’d also like to see a little more on the Veiled Alliance. I’d like to see a map - I know you showed me a draft but it would really help see how the locales fit together. Maybe take the existing references and include them in a ‘Dread Possibility’ box? I also love the Dread Possibilities - they’re well thought out, are relevant to the Domain and faithful to the dual campaign settings. ![]() I do wonder whether or not you’ve spent too much time dwelling on what happens if Kalidnay makes it back to Athas, which lessens the ‘permanency’ of the DP including a Domain in the Demiplane. There are a few typos and sentences that don’t make sense (nothing that a re-read won’t pick up). You’ve pushed Kalidnay in a very different way to how I have but it makes sense, fits into either RL or DS and has a number of different power players and centres for DMs and PCs to navigate between. ![]() You’ve taken a fairly bare bones description of Kalidnay, largely devoid of gothic horror in the 2E RL products and made it a cultural product of Athas while bringing in some RL horror elements. For what it’s worth, here’s my 2 ceramic bits: It’s taken a few days to sit down and read the PDF. ![]() ![]() ![]() Cliffs, in particular, continue to provoke odd pathfinding behavior as artillery and infantry would split up, head in different directions, then reconvene for seemingly no purpose. While the AI's pathfinding has certainly been improved from 2005, I still noticed some odd movement choices that raised my eyebrows on multiple occasions. Still, if you're planning to game on the go, you'll want to look into one of the best laptops for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition to have a smooth experience. A modern gaming PC shouldn't have any issues. This isn't exactly a complaint, but you should also be aware this title is far more physically demanding than Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. While the AI's pathfinding has certainly been improved from 2005, I still noticed some odd movement choices. These issues never cropped up in gameplay, so I'm willing to chalk it up to an odd bug, but it's still something to keep in mind. These would play out quite choppy despite little happening on the screen, only to resolve immediately upon assuming direct control of my units. My performance was solid overall, though I did repeatedly get framerate stutter in cinematics, especially when trying Historical Battles. Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition What I disliked For more information, I encourage you to read the World's Edge interview with Anthony Brave, a Sicangu Oyate (Rosebud Sioux Tribe) and Chippewa-Cree descendant who helped to develop the new content and recommended different changes. Act II of The WarChiefs campaign has also been altered to remove Crazy Horse and has been written as a more personal, fitting story. Names have been changed to match authentic historical civilizations, with stereotypical material like the Fire Pit removed. One of the most meaningful changes comes in how the Native American tribes are represented. ![]() It's not the same as dedicated campaigns but being able to take on the Spanish at Algiers and undergo other fights meant the mainline campaign's focus is no longer as jarring and is actually fairly enjoyable. Meanwhile, Historical Battles provide fully-narrated and voiced scenarios with nice production values. The Art of War challenge missions from Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition make a welcome return here. With every setting to max at 1080p, a GTX 780 Ti and I7-4930k easily averaged 60 FPS, with some drops into the mid-40s when multiple large armies clashed. On my Samsung 850 EVO solid-state drive, the different story missions, custom multiplayer battles, and other modes never took more than about six or seven seconds to load, which meant flowing from one engagement to the next could be done with ease. Meanwhile, the Swedes take a while to get going but become a downright frightening force in the endgame, cranking out artillery and hiring mercenaries with mechanized perfection. The Incas feel suited to midgame rushes, with the ability to quickly speed unit production, while the Incan Priestess can convert enemy units (Wololo!). I specifically focused a lot of my time in custom matches with these two newcomers, and both feel like solid, balanced additions. With the addition of the Swedes and the Incas, there are now 16 civilizations to play. The entire Home City mechanic has mercifully been reworked. When combined with the addition of dedicated servers, I expect players will be a lot happier with the multiplayer scene. Just being able to focus on choosing shipments during a match felt like a huge relief. Now, if you're beginning to explore multiplayer, you won't be at a disadvantage playing against somehow who has hundreds of hours under their belt. All cards are unlocked from the start for everyone. The entire Home City mechanic has mercifully been reworked outside of the singleplayer campaigns. ![]() |
